The Richmond Hunting Club offers memberships to some of the best waterfowl and upland game hunting areas of Colusa, Glenn and Butte counties. The club is a non-profit club managed by volunteers and board members elected by the membership. The club has no paid positions; all monies go toward leasing property, managing and upkeep of the club facilities. No reservations are needed! Don’t worry about what day you can hunt; we are open 7 days a week during the hunting season.

The Richmond Hunting Club is a family oriented club. We encourage our members to bring their wives and families to all activities including our RHC Day held the end of august when we have our drawings for RV spaces. This day includes BBQ lunch, drawing for prizes, meeting new and old friends and a chance to share stories and get to know the officers and directors of the club.

The club has a drawing for "field" blind locations during the last week of July. Property managers for the different areas have maps that show the locations for the field blinds. After crops are harvested you may build a blind for waterfowl hunting. This blind is for your use, but may be used by other members when you are not present. You may also use another person’s field blind, thus increasing your opportunity to hunt other areas around the valley. Due to new farming practices, a lot of the field blinds are flooded after the harvest creating duck ponds that offer some outstanding waterfowl hunting.

In addition to the general membership an "Exclusive use" 2 and 4 man water blinds may be leased on a yearly basis. Volunteers maintain these ponds. The blinds are located in natural habitat and flooded rice fields. The person who leases it and their guest may only use them. Open water blinds are filled from a waiting list. New areas are filled by members wanting to move, followed by those on the waiting list. Two-seat water blinds may be shared by up to 4 members.

Wild pheasant populations are supplemented by the release of pen-raised pheasants on two to three weekends during the season. A junior pheasant hunt is conducted on the second weekend of the season along with a "ladies only" hunt. There is no additional charge to members and their guest for this event.

The club maintains pass shooting blinds bordering the closed zone of the Colusa National Wildlife Refuge. A daily drawing is held at 5:00AM each shoot day of the waterfowl season for these blinds. On foggy and windy days these blinds offer some great pass shooting. There is no additional charge for the use of these blinds. They are open to all members.

Clubhouses are located in Arbuckle, Colusa, and Maxwell areas. Our clubhouses have restrooms or portable toilets, kitchen facilities and picking sheds. Some have bunkhouses and showers, which may be used on a first, come first serve basis. Many of the members use the kitchen facilities for informal potluck meals.

Recreational vehicle parking is available for approximately 100+ units. A drawing for spaces is conducted on RHC Day, last weekend of August. Spots are filled on a first draw, first choice basis. There is a modest fee for RV parking and hook-ups on club property. The fee covers the parking period form the end of August through February. There is also some storage allowed during the off-season for and additional monthly charge.

Off season activities include Work parties by our members to help maintain our club and to socialize along with fishing for salmon, striper, catfish, black bass and pan fish on the Sacramento River. Cray fishing and frogging are popular with many of our members during the late summer.
